Our lightweight dado rails and panel mouldings are made by Orac in Purotouch, a high-density polyurethane, and Duropolymer, a rigid, impact-resistant material. Both are light, quick to fit and ready to paint.
They are ideal for creating wall panelling, defining a room’s proportions or adding a dado line to a hallway or staircase. Several profiles have matching corner pieces, so panel frames can have neat, decorative corners.
Many designs also come in a flexible version for curved walls and bay windows. For a traditional handmade finish, see our plaster dado rails.
Both are Orac’s lightweight materials. Purotouch is a high-density polyurethane used for more detailed profiles. Duropolymer is a rigid, impact-resistant material used for the PX range and other slimmer, modern profiles.
Plan the size and spacing of the panels on the wall first, then cut the mouldings to length and mitre the corners, or use the matching corner pieces where a profile has them. Fix them with adhesive.
Use an adhesive made for Orac mouldings. We stock lightweight adhesives for fixing and for bonding the joints.
Yes. Many profiles are available in a flexible version, marked with an F in the product code, that follows curved walls.
