Victorian Cornice & Coving

Victorian cornice tends to be deeper and more decorative than the Georgian work before it. Rooms were often graded by importance: the most elaborate cornice went in the hall and front reception rooms, with simpler profiles upstairs.

Typical Victorian details include the bold, flowing swan neck (C7, C8 and C4), egg and dart (C30, C40 and C142), dentil blocks (C21, and C1 with grape and vine), and leaf and flower designs such as C57 and the honeysuckle C29.

If part of your original cornice survives, we can take a mould from it and reproduce the missing lengths exactly. See restoration and matching.

As well as our handmade plaster, this range includes lightweight Orac profiles in classic ogee and cove shapes, such as the C331 and C341, with flexible versions for curved walls and bay windows.
